Replace or repair torn window and door screens to help keep your home pest free this summer! |
The warm weather pests are back and if you haven’t already, now is the time to pest proof your home before you have serious issues with Arkansas insects. We all like to enjoy the outdoors and the warm weather, but we must be cautious to avoid the threat of pests while we are enjoy the long spring and summer days. Problematic pests for people and sometimes property include fleas, ticks, spiders, ants, mosquitoes, and stinging insects. The pest control experts at McCauley Services would like to share some ways to pest proof your home and property as to avoid any infestations that will keep you from enjoying your outdoor time.
Keep your lawn mowed regularly to avoid fleas and ticks from hiding out and waiting to jump on their host (that means you or a pet).
Cut back bushes and shrubs so they are not touching the side of your home. This will keep ants, spiders, and other insects from gaining access to the inside of your home.
Make sure that all windows are secured with screens as this is the easiest way for a pest to gain access to your home.
Check your property regularly for any signs of stinging insects including their nests. If you do spot a nest, do not attempt to destroy it on your own, this is a job for the professionals.
Redirect water that is stagnant or flowing onto your property as this will promote the breeding of insects including mosquitoes.
Keep your kitchen clear of any food debris including spills and crumbs so that will attract ants to infest your home.
Make sure that your family pets are treated for fleas and ticks from an effective treatment that can be bought at your local veterinarian’s office.
