With the official start of summer just a little over a week away, McCauley Services would like to remind homeowners in Little Rock, Benton and Hot Springs as well as those throughout Arkansas that this is the time of year to start preparing for mosquito season. Mosquitoes are the small, blood-sucking insects that often ruin backyard bbq’s, outdoor weddings and pool parties with their annoying buzz and irritating bites. The good news is that by implementing a few simple preventative measures homeowners can effectively keep the number of mosquitoes down in their backyard this summer.
The most effective way to reduce the number of mosquitoes is to eliminate their breeding ground, standing water, which includes:
Get rid of any item that can hold water, for example old tires or flower pot drip trays
If not in use turn over canoes, kayaks, wheel barrows, wading pools
Change the water frequently in bird baths, children’s pools and pet dishes
Clean any debris from gutters
Repair leaky faucets, hoses and air conditioning units
Cover swimming pools and hot tubs
Female mosquitoes can lay hundreds of eggs in the smallest amount of water in just a few short days, so let no bottle, tin can or beach pail be left with water in it.
If all of your best attempts to keep mosquitoes from biting fail, McCauley Services is ready to help with our effective mosquito control services. We use a state-of-the-art mosquito misting system that will kill and repel mosquitoes and other flying insects creating a protective barrier around your pools, outdoor kitchens, patios, decks, porches and even your backyard. Our misting system is set to automatically deliver a fine, measured mist through precision nozzles when mosquitoes are most likely to be present. They can also be manually set to give an extra mist before special events. If you live in Little Rock, Hot Springs or elsewhere in Arkansas, don’t let mosquitoes keep you from what matters most, contact McCauley Services to schedule your free inspection today!
