Follow these easy tips to help prevent pests from seeking water in your home |
Just like you find yourself running for the closest glass of water on a hot, dry day so do the pests. Spiders, ants, rodents, and wildlife are all seeking more resources when the natural world is depleted aka the climate is dry and hot so water and food are not abundant. And unfortunately, it could be your home and property that is providing such pests with the moisture and food they are seeking.
Pests such as rodents and wildlife can cause damages to the structures in your home, taunt your animals, and get into your trash. Spiders are capable of biting and causing allergic reactions. And ants can intrude by the thousands, some bite and sting while others cause structural damages. So even though it is dry and resources are limited for pests, it does not mean you want to take pity on them and invite them in for a refreshing glass of iced tea.
The AR pest control pros at McCauley Services would like to share a few pest prevention tips for when the rain has taken the back seat.
Avoid water fountains, man made ponds, and other water features that will draw in pests.
Be sure to empty trash regularly and keep it sealed so that insects and wildlife can’t get in.
Seal off any holes or gaps on the exterior of the home to keep insects from sneaking inside searching for food and water.
Keep your kitchen clear of any food debris and be sure that all food is sealed in case a few critters do find their way inside.
Keep in mind that even if you are working hard to prevent pests they may still find their way onto your property and even into your home. They are just sneaky like that! But thanks to the help of McCauley Services’ Prescribed Home Protection Program, you will not have to worry about the sneaky pests threatening you and your family.
