Christian Wilcox, an 18 year veteran of the McCauley Services team, recently spoke about bed bugs at the 2011 Maintenance Workshop of the Southwest National Association of Housing and Redevelopment Officials. This year’s workshop was held at the Clarion on Lake Hamilton in Hot Springs, Arkansas February 22nd, 23rd and 24th.
The mission of the Southwest NAHRO is to help provide “adequate housing for the entire people and the attainment of sound communities through the processes of development, preservation, conservation, rehabilitation, and redevelopment”. This 3 day event brought together McCauley Serivces’ pest control specialists as well as plumbers, electricians, housing authority officials and many others dedicated to the mission of the SWNAHRO.
Christian’s presentation included information on the basic biology of bed bugs, their behavior and the identification of bed bug infestations. He also talked to their industry’s specific needs and questions regarding the bed bug concerns in the Southwest region of the United States. Bed bugs are the fastest growing pest problem all across the U.S. and McCauley Services is committed to their community and helping spread the word about these nasty, blood sucking insects.
