As part of its Pest Management Pledge to the People of Haiti, the National Pest Management Association (NPMA), a non-profit organization committed to the protection of public health, food and property, is sending a third delegation for a four-day mission to the island nation September 15-18, 2010. The delegates will continue the organization’s efforts to assist with pest problems in medical facilities and to offer further training and mentoring to Haitian workers on how to protect against such severe pest problems in the future.
NPMA was chosen by the Haitian Minister of Environment to provide professional pest management services in several hospitals that have become overrun with pests, including flies, mosquitoes, rodents and cockroaches in the aftermath of the January earthquake. McCauley Services, a pest management company serving the state of Arkansas is one of the 19 companies that will assist in this important relief effort.
In an effort to help Haiti overcome the devastating after-effects of the January 12, 2010 earthquake, the National Pest Management Association NPMA will raise at least $250,000 to support pest management initiatives for hospitals in Port au Prince, Haiti.
